little pieces of central park,
taken on our recent trip.
the park is a lush haven of green,
bang in the middle
of that concrete jungle
where dreams are made of.
"my favourite place is central park because you never know what you're going to find there. ... I like that when I look out the windows,... it seems like I'm looking out over a forest."~ Haley Joel Osment
the park's history is compelling.
the need for a great public park was voiced by poet & editor of the Evening Post as early as 1844.
as construction began the park was considered 'a democratic development of the highest significance.'
sheep continued to graze in the park until the 1930s.
even in person, its hard to comprehend the scale of the park, the dedication which protects its preservation.
today - the park is, & continues to be,
well, central park.
& I want to go back.
