one of the first things on my list,
now we're home,
was to plant some herbs for our little balcony.
I painted some pots in leftover soft grey paint,
which also helps to seal the terracotta
& stop them drying out so quickly in the sun.
herbs we use in cooking,
basil, flat parsley.
potted up the french lavender (it grew so much while we were away).
never mind the horrid tiles & poorly railing,
these guys basking in the morning winter sun.
rosemary
(for proper English roast dinners he loves to make on Sundays),
and coriander.
the little red trowel I made in metal-work at school!

for the moment, this is enough
to make a lovely sunny spot for tea & toast.
Nice one! Nothing quite like picking your own herbs when you're cooking. I bet they smell great too - when I brush past the rosemary in my garden the scent follows me... which I suppose is why it is the herb used for remembrance.
