you may remember these?
and wondered what I planned for all those tea cups
with little holes in the bottom...
well if you came by at finders keepers
or the GoMA twilight market
you'll have already solved the puzzle.
as a nod to all things British for
our new collection
"THE LONDON CLUB",
and I suppose from knowing just a few dear pommies who've
taught me the simple joy of a cup of 'rosy lee'
(rhyming slang for tea of course),
I knew I had to think of something for all those pretty
english tea cups I find in thrift and junk shops.
long abandoned,
they are usually mismatched
missing their original saucer,
and often with a tiny chip or crack.
but still far too lovely to ignore.
so we cleverly devised a method to put a drainage hole
in the bottom (so the roots won't rot)
and there you have it:
a very English tea-cup planter
for your windowsill.
perfect for herbs, so you can snip a little for your cooking;
or a pretty annual for a sunny balcony table
(where you'll sit for afternoon tea of course).
the planters can be replanted
as time goes by
with any plant you find suitable.
because as any good Englishman knows,
all news good or bad,
is better with a cup of tea.

these "THE LONDON CLUB" tea-cup planters
are now available online here at the {oldyarns} corner store.
for postage reasons
they will be sent unplanted but with a packet of seeds
(a choice of herbs or annuals)
so you can plant your own.
or for large local orders (three or more)
I am happy to plant them up and drop them around.
milk and one thanks love.
